Welcome to HAJ Estates, a family run property investment, development and management business with over 40 years’ experience building productive joint venture partnerships with developers throughout the UK.
Overview
Our existing investment portfolio is a mixture of residential, commercial and mixed-use properties. We are also experienced property developers, seeking out opportunities to bring existing projects through to a profitable completion. These developments are then either added to our existing portfolio or released to the market, based on the best business decision for ourselves and/or our partners.
In all cases our focus is on building mutually productive business relationships that yield an excellent long-term return on investment for everyone involved.
Our business is built on a family tradition of entrepreneurial integrity and business intelligence, that recognises and exploits opportunities within the property market. This approach has seen our company go from strength to strength over more than four decades, building on the foundations laid by our founder Mr Awtar S Johal.
Where it all began…
From the outset Mr Johal was involved in the manufacturing sector. His entrepreneurial flair then led him to invest in property – where he understood the value of bricks and mortar being not only an income generator but an appreciating asset in the long-term. His vibrant and inviting personality saw him involved in the hospitality and care sectors, gaining a wide and in-depth knowledge of the fluctuations and opportunities of the property market.
Where we are today…
His son, Harps Johal, now heads up the business as Asset Manager, overseeing the day-to-day management of the portfolio. He is supported by his Personal Assistant Lysia and Paula, his Accounts Manager. Over the years the family have nurtured valued relationships with a wealth of property experts to ensure that all investments, developments and management are dealt with professionally.

HAJ Estates has successfully project managed a number of mixed-use developments. This has been possible through the foresight and expertise of our creative and dynamic team of professionals who have been able to unleash the optimum potential of any given site.
We invest in projects at all stages of development, our goal being to help guide the project through to successful completion.
We also seek to acquire land with the potential for development and/or will actively work with property developers – our speciality is subject to planning proposals.
We are experienced managers, solely overseeing our mixed-use portfolio of investment properties –comprising mainly commercial units. We pride ourselves in having good relationships with our existing tenants. Our broad base of contacts, along with the experience the team has acquired over the years, has strengthened our ability to find the right tenant for the right property. We are therefore confident working with sector specific agents thus enabling us to continuously expand our successful portfolio.
